Tekvel, an esteemed engineering company specializing in relay protection and automation of electric power facilities, and Nano Imports, an Emirati distributor of energy metering equipment, nano materials and IT solutions, are thrilled to announce the signing of an exclusive distribution agreement. This significant partnership was formalized on 15th November 2023, at the Dubai Expo 2020 Russia Pavilion.
Under this agreement, Nano Imports becomes the exclusive distributor of Tekvel’s innovative products and services in the territory of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This collaboration is strategically aimed at introducing Tekvel’s cutting-edge digital substation products and their unique expertise in the IEC 61850 standard to the UAE market.
This cooperation is particularly geared towards bolstering the demands of customers in the region, and compliments Smart Grid strategic initiative. Smart Grid initiatives highly correlate with sustainability strategies, as reliable digital communications are critically important for operations. DEWA’s Smart Grid program is a pivotal part of its endeavor to transform Dubai into the smartest city in the world, featuring a comprehensive smart water and electricity infrastructure. This program aligns with Dubai’s vision to provide 100% of its energy production capacity from clean energy sources by 2050, under the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Emissions Strategy 2050. The Smart Grid includes automated decision-making and interoperability across the entire electricity and water network, focusing on areas such as foundational capabilities, grid automation, smart energy solutions, green mobility, smart water, smart grid AI, and innovative value-added services.
